Josema is a Director in Gartner's Legal Operations practice. His research focuses on how general counsel redesign legal work for the AI-native enterprise through operating model transformation, contracting modernization, legal self-service and AI-enabled decision systems.
He advises legal leaders on legal operating models, enterprise contracting, agentic AI adoption, workforce transformation and technology strategy, helping legal departments improve business impact, scale expertise and accelerate decision-making.
Prior to Gartner, Josema led more than 50 legal transformation and innovation initiatives across Europe and Latin America. His work included legal operating model design, enterprise contracting transformation, contract lifecycle management, legal technology implementation, outside counsel strategy, analytics and change management.
Earlier in his career, he spent a decade practicing law in international arbitration and dispute resolution, advising multinational organizations on complex cross-border disputes.
