Jennifer Carter is a Senior Principal Analyst in the CIO & Executive Leadership practice. She advises Executives on how to navigate C-suite dynamics; in particular, building executive trust and influence, creating high-performing teams, and driving AI adoption across the C-suite. Jennifer leads the annual Gartner C-Suite Leadership of Technologies survey, which surfaces the technology decisions and best practices that drive high-performing Executive teams. She also covers culture change through the art of culture hacking and taking a people-first approach to enterprise change. Furthermore, Ms. Carter discusses key topics regarding the future of work, such as accelerating enterprise AI literacy and adoption and leadership in remote and hybrid environments. Prior to Gartner, Jennifer studied power dynamics within Chinese imperial courts at the University of Florida and spent multiple years in the Gartner Executive Programs organization. She has a passion for evaluating complex organizational and leadership challenges and utilizes her diverse background to inspire Executives to think outside of the box.
Ms. Carter joined Gartner in 2015 after earning her B.A. in Chinese Languages and Literatures with a minor in German Studies from the University of Florida. For six years she supported operational teams within Gartner and served as a Client Success Manager for both High Tech and Telecommunications Providers and Executive Programs Leaders. During her time in Executive Programs, Ms. Carter's industry coverage included: manufacturing, financial services, professional services, life sciences, energy and utilities, oil and gas, education, and retail. Her role centered on understanding executive priorities, aligning IT and enterprise strategies, and developing tracks for culture change and team skills development.
