Daniel Barros is a Managing Vice President within Gartner's IT Sourcing, Procurement & Vendor Management research practice, where he leads a global team of research experts focused on IT Services Sourcing, including IT infrastructure, applications management and software engineering leaders. In his prior role, Mr. Barros was a Vice President Analyst involved in high-quality analyses across infrastructure services in the former Infrastructure and Communication Services team within the sourcing practice, working to identify and develop of new research topics to meet requirements of Gartner clients. Mr. Barros' responsibilities include leading a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality research and interactions to sourcing, procurement and vendor management leaders to help them drive improved performance, operational efficiency, cost optimization and outsourcing vendor performance.
Before joining Gartner, Mr. Barros worked as a Senior IT Division Manager for a large Spanish telco in Brazil. In that role, he managed the major infrastructure services contracts. He also worked as the Project Manager for in-sourcing the carrier's largest infrastructure outsourcing contract. Prior to that role, he worked as a Delivery Project Executive for a large American IT company. In that role, he was responsible for the outsourcing contract delivery for several contracts. He is also a certified project manager and has a strong technical background in IT infrastructure and application development.
