Karine Chaves holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in Information Retrieval from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She has more than 25 years of experience in Technology and Innovation, including over 22 years in leadership positions.
Throughout her career, she has led teams in the development and execution of business and technology strategies aligned with corporate objectives across multiple industries, including Internet, E-commerce, Telecommunications, Technology Services, and Insurance.
Karine has both national and international experience and has successfully navigated complex business environments, including startups, workforce restructurings, digital transformation initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and large-scale organizational change programs.
As Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Junto Seguros, she leads multidisciplinary teams across technology, digital products, data, artificial intelligence, cloud, cybersecurity, and corporate innovation, driving initiatives that combine business growth, operational excellence, and technological transformation.
Beyond her executive responsibilities, Karine is actively engaged in the innovation ecosystem and is a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She is co-author of the books Women in Technology and Behind IT and serves as a volunteer for the UN Women program, supporting organizations in becoming signatories to the Women’s Empowerment Principles.
She is also a member of MCIO Brasil and Conselheiras do Brasil, two leading executive communities focused on leadership, innovation, and corporate governance.
In addition to her executive role, Karine serves as an Administrative and Advisory Board Member, contributing to corporate governance and strategic decision-making, and supporting innovation and business transformation initiatives.
