Speaker Bio
Ken Noguchi was born on August 21, 1973, in Boston, USA. In 1999, he successfully summited Mount Everest and, at the age of 25, set the world record as the youngest person to climb the highest peaks on all seven continents.
Since 2000, he has been focusing on cleaning up litter on mountains such as Everest and Mt. Fuji, launching cleanup expeditions. In 2007, he successfully summited Everest from the Tibetan side.
In recent years, in addition to his cleanup activities, he has been actively involved in initiatives to prevent glacier melting caused by global warming, as well as in the recovery of the remains of Japanese soldiers.
Drawing on his experience with disaster relief, he is also engaged in raising awareness about disaster preparedness.
Following the earthquakes in Turkey in March 2023 and on the Noto Peninsula in January 2024, he organized the delivery of relief supplies such as sleeping bags and solar lanterns to affected areas.
